Matt,
Looks like an awesome European tour schedule! I hope it went well and maybe you were able to bring the family to tour the Continent. I'll be buying "Between Cutomers" this week and look forward to listening.
Does the new cut of "Louisiana" have an extra oil spill verse? :)
Best,
Mark

elinor - Mon, May 10th, 2010 9:34 AM EDT
Enjoyed neeting you in Kibarchan on Saturday. Weirdly, when I ripped your new 'Between Customers' CD to Windows Media Player, it morphed into 'Killjoy' - two albums for the price of one?

Q. Yockman - Mon, Sep 21st, 2009 12:29 PM EDT
I heard on the radio station 102.1 FM that Sound Exchange has a list of artists whom they owe royalties, but "claim" to not be able to reach them. I scrolled through the names on their website's list and I saw, as bid as the day is long, your name.

Just thought you might want to have someone look into it.

NuFan, you didn't miss the Alexandria show-- it'll be on May 14th at St Elmo's coffeehouse in Alexandria VA.
I read yesterday's very nice Wash Post article on Matt. I'm one of those people "from 1995," and I would yell out for the song from Scaryarea about lawyers (is it "Opportunist"?)-- that would fit a concert in the DC area. But not at the expense of "McHappiness," of course.

Sorry to have missed your Alexandria VA show. Looking forward to your Arlington date in July! A gig at The Birchmere Music Hall...would be a natural venue for your talent in the Washinton DC area.

Hi. I am wondering if the song McHappiness is available anywhere on the web to download. I would just outright buy Scaryarea, except that I am moving out of state and it would be too hard to get it to me on time (on time for a comp disc I am making, for myself, called "20th Century Somber." I will even promise to buy Scaryarea after the move if yuo can just help me find a way to get McHappniess now. Thank you.

You've got a few big fans down in McComb Mississippi. After you play Good Karma Cafe on July 22nd, I'm hoping you'll have many more. Still, none will be bigger than I.

I was recommended Matt's album tiltawhirl this Saturday by one of the owners of 'Big Pink music', a record store in Manchester. May I say that I simply adore this album. 'Jacksonville'is simply perfect, Matt, well done!

I've been a fan since I first heard "McHappiness" on short-lived locally-owned Twin Cities independent alternative radio station Rev-105 back in the mid-90's. I just Googled Matt's name and found he had an "Official" website - good to see he's still around making new music and hasn't faded into complete obscurity. It's great to know that quality music of any genre is still being made in this era where so very little on mainstream or "contemporary alternative" radio is worth the time. Knowing now Matt's on the web, I'll be a regular and loyal member of his site. His lyrics were a great influence on the poetry I was writing at the time, and I'm grateful for him inspiring that in me.

--keep up the good work and continue to fight the good fight of making genuine music regardless of whether the mainstream acknowledges your contribution.

Matt and Emily performed together at the Sharp Things Holiday show in Brooklyn, Saturday night. They did two songs, one a John Prine cover and "Summer Tonight". You guys are wonderful together both onstage and off. Thanks for the CDs and taking the time to chat. All the best always--Love, Chris from Virginia
